The Story Behind New Leaf


I'm Dena- Mom of four, photographer, and the heart behind New Leaf Portraits. Motherhood is where my passion for photography began. The fleeting seasons, the quiet in-between moments — these are the stories I’m honored to preserve for families. Nestled in Stavely, Alberta, New Leaf serves families throughout Southern Alberta. Clients regularly travel from Claresholm, Lethbridge, High River, Okotoks, Calgary, and surrounding communities to experience a thoughtfully curated session designed with connection, comfort, and timeless imagery in my dedicated commercial photography studio.

I specialize in newborn and maternity portraiture, offering a calm, baby-led studio experience designed with both baby and parents in mind. With over 7 years of experience working with families at all stages and seasons of life. Your session is unhurried, gentle, and focused on safety, comfort, and timeless imagery.

From the anticipation of pregnancy, to the delicate details of your newborn’s first days, to meaningful parent and family portraits, each session is thoughtfully styled to create images you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
